undergrounds for Glasgow & Edinburgh

Most major European cities have undergrounds ,Glasgow has a small one that needs major long term expansion. We are so far behind in developing our transport infrastructure, which has major consequences like harmful pollutants, slowing the movement of industry which effects productivity ,,congestion ,more road repairs& a more stressed public which has health consequences. We need to think big &be bold, or risk falling further behind.Don,t stop at glasgow get highspeed linking the cities.

Why the contribution is important

The space above ground in cities, is already working at capacity so there is a need to go underground. If othercities can do it then only excuses are stopping us.

We should extend the tram line out along Newington, splitting off at Cameron Toll to the RI and Loanhead. A Subway would be great, but in a city where they don't even put basements under new-builds, there must be some reason why that wouldn't work?

I would like to see passenger traffic re-instated on the existing line that includes Morningside Station and Blackford Station.
