A circuit-breaker lockdown won't be useful and will ruin lives again

A circuit-breaker lockdown is not the answer to fight against Covid-19. There is no such lockdown in any other country that has got higher cases of Scotland.

Why the contribution is important

Because people won't cope with mental health anymore with all these restrictions and after two weeks of lockdown people will blow up and start doing parties and all the things they could not do for two weeks and therefore the virus would come back anyway. We need to get used to the virus and start living with it, enforce some rules that are not forced now unfortunately and stop penalising tourism and hospitality industry and especially stop ruining people's mental health.

As a single parent that suffers mental health problems, I would rather have a circuit breaker lockdown, its better to try than risking a full lockdown for a longer because things are out of control, although I don't think the one week school holiday will be long enough to make a difference, all schools should have the October holiday extended for at least 2 weeks

But it is better to enforce the rules that a lot of people are not following at the moment and therefore in this way you would have a long term control over the Covid-19. If you place a lockdown, after restrictions are eased, people will go back to not following the rules and cases would be up again.

Circuit breaker wont be effective as the virus will still be here, open up, lock down, open up, lock down etc etc is not a strategy..................where is the commitment to deal with local spikes and non compliance? Deal with rises at a local level, dont say one minute the gov cant pin down the causes of spikes and next minute say your locking down aspects of life because of the evidence, contradictory approach to suit not targeting the issues. ( Glasgow positive cases were rising and gov knew it was due to small numbers all over yet they still didn’t address the problem until it was too late, Aberdeen were locked down asap!)

Circuit breaker won’t work. People who have been ignoring the regulations since the start will go on ignoring them. Selfish and determined to carry on seeing friends and family regardless. Folk like us who have been following the rules are the ones who are frustrated and suffering from not seeing family. Unfortunately there are examples in the press of folk who should know better flouting the regulations and all they do is say sorry. Public shaming is not good enough there should be far reaching and life changing penalties for them. Folk seeing them just think why should they follow the rules when these breaches are taking place.
