Age Related Measure

Science has told us that younger individuals have little or no debilitation from Covid 19. Older individual suffer badly and have the vast majority of morbidity percentage.
Lockdown say over 55s for 3 or 4 weeks whilst letting under 55s do as they wish. If that means they carry on with old normal then so be it knowing they will be vulnerable and very likely to get the virus. In turn, they .as create an immunoty for themselves. At the same time remove all hospitality restrictions. Those premises would not be allowed to employ over 55s or vulnerable who would be furloughed.
After say 3 or 4 weeks review and hopefully release over 55s.
Remember that during all freedom periods individuals can still choose whether to continue some form of lockdown or not.
This system would give a much needed boost to hospitality , save a number of them from closure and save jobs whilst still being a targeted risk based approach

Why the contribution is important

I have a real concern for society heading towards a finance driven high risk solution in time if a vaccine doesn't appear. Also, the populous has no confidence in the hokey cokey systems and is becoming Covid Restriction weary which produces a risk in itself

So we lock down over 55s? What about younger people and children with underlying conditions?
The under 55s who can resume normality - what if they live with their parents? What if a business/workplace/school only has over 55s or staff with underlying health conditions, do they just close down? Care home workers under 55 can they just mingle freely in hospitality, houses or whatever?

Sorry. Parts missing from my original script which read "over 55s and vulnerable" and
" the 2 groups do not meet anywhere. Furthermore under 55s can lockdown on voluntary basis but in doing so are not allowed visits

I agree with your intentions and agree the public is becoming weary of restrictions . However I disagree completely with idea of an arbitrary age threshold. Many 56+ year olds are far healthier than younger people and to restrict them on health grounds is ridiculous. 92% of Covid deaths in the UK had underlying health conditions. Younger people are also dying in that category.
