Restrict travel within and outwith the country and enforce strict checks on those who do enter including controlled quarantining.

Why the contribution is important

Action to suppress the virus will only work if we can control who comes into the country outherwise no amount of suppression will be enough

    Don’t restrict travel within UK but definitely restrict overseas entry into the country for a time period

    This is probably the single most effective thing we should do. If we drastically reduce numbers leaving and entering then when restrictions ease again a further resurgence will be less likely. And anyway, we should be travelling less due to the environmental crisis.

    All UK international travel (apart from essential) in and out of the country should have ceased right at the start. However it didn't so we are where we are. It should stop now for a set period for assessment. This will only work with border controls which I suspect won't be allowed. Unfortunately ScotGov are working with one hand tied behind their back.

    Were fighting a losing battle when England has higher numbers... Scotland had a lot of holiday makers from England. We must have border control. Also control from other countries...
    It terrifies me as I have elderly parents and Im petrified of catching covid and taking it into them as I am their main carer.

    Scottish border checks should begin ASAP. It cannot be right that holiday makers from heavily infected parts of England can just come to Scotland and spread the virus.

    Scottish borders checks should be more stringent. I came through Edinburgh airport from Dublin (which is an international hub). I was asked by a law enforcer if I had been in any other country in the last 14 days apart from Ireland..................... yes or no.................. no checks were done no tracing and the gentlemen mask didn't cover his nose!!!!!!! and while I was waiting to be asked no other passenger had been anywhere else except Ireland!

    The virus is already in Scotland - how would stopping travel make a difference to it?
