Consult and Engage Locals

Schemes which have been dreamed up by national lobby groups and their consultants, and paid for by the Scottish Government so someone can tell us “what’s good for us” are abhorrent.

Use of Covid rules and a TTRO to avoid local consultation is a blatant breach of trust and frankly, the Councils which are engaging in this kind of behaviour should be ashamed.

I also agree with the final paragraph. Unnecessary use of TTRO and avoiding consultation with those affected is alienatung communities from their elected representatives at a time when unity is needed, not division. Worse still, the output of the CEC actions in East Craigs was a plan which was as dangerous as it was unworkable. It’s easy to see why CEC didn’t want to consult on that plan.

Stop! Engage and Consult with the locals. You will be amazed at what we can achieve when we work together.

Why the contribution is important

Nobody understands the needs and aspirations of the neighbourhood than the people who live their. They literally have their whole lives invested in it.

We need to support local democracy and ensure that locals feel that they have a say and are being heard.
