Create an app to report restrictions violations.

Create an app or website where it is possible to report the violations that we might be encountering around the city.

Why the contribution is important

Because calling 101 is time consuming and there is always a queue and it is not efficient as 101 is also used for other non-emergency situations.

This idea would have fitted in well in former East Germany - Stasi methods. Let's encourage spying on each other - no thanks.

No, this would do yet more damage to individuals and society. To get through this pandemic, we need more social solidarity, not suspicion and spying.

If we are in this situation now, it's because many people do not comply with the rules. I am tired of seeing people struggling, people losing jobs and people having issues with mental health. Let's make our part and start controlling the virus all together. It's not spying, it is reporting something that cannot be done at the moment and I see this as a social solidarity, solidarity for all the people who comply with the rules and still struggle with mental health due to these restrictions.

We are in this situation now for a variety of reasons but non compliance with a set of arbitrary and ever changing rules is unlikely to be a prime factor. We cannot control the virus so the sooner we recognise that fact the sooner we can have an adult conversation about the best way forward. Getting back to some semblance of normality will protect jobs and mental health, we just need to protect and support the vulnerable that actually want to be protected.

Can we add to current app, something similar to South Korea, where you can see where current outbreaks are, e.g basic areas e.g Gorgie, Bruntsfield, in this way it allows you to make informed choices about areas you choose to visit. If on the app should make it simple to access info. For those who are actively seeking to follow advice, they can use to avoid areas where possible. Without highlighting businesses or individuals.
