Don’t include children in wedding numbers

Children under 12 shouldn’t be included in the number of 20 for weddings. We have been told that children under 12 don’t need to social distance so why are they currently included. The fact that a newborn baby is classed as 1 of the 20 makes it impossible to have immediate family for both bride and groom to attend the wedding.

Why the contribution is important

It’s an impact on everyone attending weddings. If you only include adults then those adults will need to find childcare arrangements, which impacts upon household mixing, and really puts a strain on bride and grooms in deciding who should attend the wedding.
