Flu virus failure

Sort out the mess that is the flu virus role out in some areas of Scotland. Sending out letters to advise how important this is without the infrastructure to deal with calls to the provided number is disgraceful. Instead of centralising this we should have allowed the GP system that worked so well in previous years.

Why the contribution is important

Many elderly people are already worried about the rising number of covid. When you then receive a letter telling you it is vitally important to get a flu vaccine only to find out that despite numbers calls, texts and emails on your behalf you still can’t get any information 3 weeks later only adds to the stress. The decision to take this away from GPs was not a great decision

The system for flu injections has worked well for years with GPS organising it quickly and efficiently. This year when it is even more important than ever it is a complete and utter mess.

I would normally have had my injection by now at my GP surgery, I don’t even have a letter for an appointment. Having contacted the health board 3 times I still don’t have a letter for an appointment.

    It is a complete fiasco.

I found it to be very well organised this time round to be honest, got through and booked in no time. I'm not aware of the problems described.
