GPs open for patients

I think we need to get our GP service up and running. It seems unbelievable that we were quite happy for essential workers such as supermarket staff to work all through the pandemic with little or no protection (premasks) yet our GPs are still avoiding seeing patients in a face to face environment which can be controlled

Why the contribution is important

People need the NHS to be open for business. How many things are going undiagnosed because you can’t speak to someone. How many things are being missed because of a telephone appointment rather than an appointment. What about all the routine appointments for our less healthy citizens / blood tests, blood pressure etc

My GP surgery website is very intimidating: "Don't come to the surgery". It is the same tone of message on their answering machine. "Surgery is a high risk area". Surely it is safer than going shopping or to the pub? Yet getting to even talk to a GP requires the patience of a saint.
I did have to go to get routine blood tests taken (they insisted I went even though I was shielding) but when I got there I was treated like a leper (not by the nurse who took the blood but before I was allowed in the door). Sorry Dr Smith General Practice is NOT open for us.
