Increase guests according to venue capacity

Increase Number of Guests Permitted at Weddings, according to Venue Capacity.

The maximum number of guests authorised at wedding ceremonies should be increased, being calculated according to venue capacity. In large venues with a capacity of 500 for example then numbers of 100 could easily be socially distanced. Whereas in a smaller venue it is likely numbers will be more limited.

Why the contribution is important

Couples plan their weddings for years, investing time and money and love. Postponing weddings is a devasting experience, especially with many couples with elderly grandparents who may not be able to attend a wedding at a later date. Or couples who want to start a family. Also not having any idea when numbers can increase makes choosing new dates nearly impossible. Couples are loosing money on deposits and being forced into a day they would never have planned with hardly any family around to support. Safety is important and different venues should be allowed to safely run larger weddings and other similar events .

I wholeheartedly agree that wedding guest limits should be in line with individual venues maximum capacity during this time with all social distancing measures taken into account. No need for only 20 people to be in a room that safely holds 50 with distancing and hygiene!
