Masks mandatory at all times

Watching so many people not wearing masks outside, is it not time to make masks mandatory at all times?

Why the contribution is important

Standing at traffic lights, window shopping or just walking in the street where pavements are too narrow to keep 2 metres apart, it is impossible to avoid the aerosol factor of Covid especially as I have COPD.

No it’s not, it is bad enough that people are made to wear them indoors.

There have been too many blanket regulations already. Making masks mandatory outside would cover everything from a high street to someone taking a walk in a deserted park in the middle of no where.

Any further regulation needs to be backed by scientific fact that it will make a difference and limited in application to specific setting / places where it might do so.

Terrible idea, depriving people of fresh air on top of all the other harms to mental health at this time.

Terrible idea. I cannot wear a mask and avoid all the places I would have to wear one. My life is already limited. This idea would give me no life at all! I don’t go places that require masks as I couldn’t take the judgments from others.

This is being done in other European countries but I'm not especially in favour of this yet. It may come to it though, the way things are spiralling out of control.

I think at the moment it would be more important to mandate mask use in the workplace as the risk of contracting Covid is much higher indoors and when people are in the same place over a longer duration of time. Really amazing that this has not been done when it's necessary in so many other places where people are indoors for only short times. This is now what the BMA are calling for.

WHO have already stated that masks are no use. Try looking at FACTS and SCIENCE.. WHO statement: there is currently no evidence that wearing a mask (whether medical or other types) by healthy persons in the wider community setting, including universal community masking, can prevent them from infection with respiratory viruses, including Covid-19.
