More than 1 birth partner

A second birthing partner should be allowed in the labour ward when this is what the mother to be wants. My daughter is expecting her first baby at Christmas and both she and her partner want me to be there to give them both additional support. The fact I am not currently allowed is causing us all anxiety.
Partners should also be allowed to all scans and antenatal appointments.

Why the contribution is important

Allowing a second birth partner will be beneficial to the mother to be and will lend her additional support. This will help her through what is already an anxious time.
Allowing partners to be at all scans and appointments will be beneficial for them both, particularly in the unfortunate circumstance that there is a problem with the pregnancy. Both of these ideas will help facilitate better mental health.

Once the fog of hysteria has cleared, we'll look back on this period and wonder how we ever let the government dictate so much control over such important and intimate life events.
