No October travel ban circuit breaker

Please do not impose Scottish / UK travel restrictions during the school October holiday. Many of us have already lost Summer holidays, and the attached costs, and need the morale booster of days out and / or a short Uk break with our families during the school October week. To impose travel restrictions now with hardly any notice would be soul destroying, would result in further unaffordable UK lost holiday costs for many and would be severely detrimental to the mental health of many which also has to be considered at this time. It could also result in the closure of many businesses in the hospitality and tourism sectors and further unemployment. The mental, physical and financial effects of this could be every bit as damaging as Coronavirus. We need to have something positive to look forward to.

Why the contribution is important

Needed to maintain morale and the mental, physical and financial health of the counntry.

We have already lost out emotionally and financially with flights going but we are unable to travel people need to have an October break with precautions to Get them through to winter

Fully agree with this, we have all been encouraged to book “staycations” and placing a ban on these days before people are due to go is just cruel and unfair to the many families and children who are desperate for the breaks. By all means consider banning travel to and from high risk areas but a blanket ban across the whole country will be detrimental to both the nations mental health and the travel and tourism sector

We need to return to as near normal as possible. No more bans.

Only allow UK holidays/breaks allowed, unless UK citizen visiting family in another country. However anyone flying in from any and every country - quarantine for 14 everyone regardless if they are flying in from a country with a lower Number of Covid cases.

I think for people's mental health it is extremely important we get away during October holidays. How are we meant to survive through the winter if we are constantly restrained. So many are booked up to go away. And the majority of us will be as safe as possible by following all rules already in place

I work in Education all the staff are on their knees with exhaustion to have this circuit break during their holidays is downright cruel and detrimental to their mental health. Most of them have booked short breaks and really need to get away and rest to enable them to cope with the next term. The phrase often used is schools open at all costs from what I can see the costs are being borne by the staff-you cannot have schools open if there are no staff and this is looking increasingly likely-personally I am considering leaving education-morale is at an all time low and staff shortages are contributing hugely to lack of safety for both staff and pupils

If the data shows a circuit break is effective then it should be put in place for 2 weeks in Oct while furlough still in place. But should only be done if there will be a real benefit for health as it will have significant economic impact
