Not another national lockdown

I don’t think there should be another national lockdown. I also think there should not be a travel ban again.

Why the contribution is important

It is important as it will effect a lot of people that maybe just want to go away for the weekend even though they are being safe.

I believe the SG was correct in taking a comparatively more cautious approach to leaving lockdown. A long and painful necessity.
However now we know more. We know who the virus affects, how it spreads, where there are likely to be / are particular issues. A more targeted approach allows for swift action but for areas of the economy and community unaffected to continue.
I also worry how the tolerant and ultimately compliant people will be with a full lockdown.
My view is the approach should be one of informed balance. I am not suggesting that we lock the vulnerable away for the winter to help the rest of us!

Regional lockdowns in England have been shown to double infection rates.
Lockdown just asks the people who are already complying to restrict themselves further.
ScotGov needs to target the people who are NOT complying rather than those that are.

Businesses and individuals cannot take another lockdown of any length. Payment breaks for mortgages and lending have finished. Those lucky enough to have had infectious disease cover are no longer covered. Furlough only helps pay wages it doesn’t cover any other aspect of business costs. My daughter came home from school in tears today at the thought of being locked down for two weeks again as she is worried that it will be extended or school will not open back up

A lockdown is not a solution at this time and in my opinion causes more problems than it solves. This lockdown situation cannot go on indefinitely. Too many people will suffer.

Lockdowns are not fair for those who live on remote islands we have to get 2 boats to get to mainland Scotland which in winter entail staying over night before we can return home the next day this is our only way to get some specific supplies. Leading to inequalities with geographic remote living

Another national lockdown could be very damaging to mental health of the kids. Many didn’t get a holiday over the summer and really need a break in their October school holiday. I can see the long term effects of the restrictions starting to impact my kids as things drag on and a holiday is needed

Lockdown will cause many of us with fragile mental health to consider doing something drastic.
We NEED to be able to go out and about.
Surely there is no harm in travelling to a self catering accommodation and not mixing with other people while there

I do not know why holidays are a necessity! I’m shocked that people feel an entitlement to them it’s been a tough time for everyone but travel has driven increases in infections. Stay local

No to another lockdown. We shouldn't have has a first one this is a coronovirus which needs to run as always said by Dr. We need to protect the vulnerable yes by all means but the answer is not to lock families away from each other.

No to lockdown as we have tried that and it doesn’t give the outcome of eradication. It is important that we find a way that allows us to live alongside the virus safely. SG need to put into context current Covid situation with other health matters as they risk neglecting other important things eg Breast screening (significant numbers missed), mental health concerns, operations delayed and hospital consultations to name a few.

    No more lockdowns!

Lockdowns has no doubt caused deaths, including suicides, but despite that the virus wasn’t killed. No more lockdowns.

The country cant afford to lockdown again, no business can afford to lockdown, the country cant offer furlough again.

Peoples livliehoods and health cant afford another lockdown.

Childrens education cant afford another lockdown ...

No to another lockdown or any further nationwide restrictions. The economy needs time to start recovering and the NHS needs time to catch up with all the other work that has been delayed. Far greater impact to the population due to more potential restrictions than the virus. COVID is going to be with us for a long time - learn to live with it NO MORE RESTRICTIONS

We need to live with the virus. If we keep to FACTS then we should continue as normal as possible. If we keep locking down and closing businesses the virus will just reappear again. Target the law breakers.

We cannot go into another Lockdown, our economy is struggling. It’s been proven that keeping people inside is not working, as soon as we were “released” it spread like wild fire, it will continue to work this way until a vaccine is found which can take 2 years. Flu vaccine does not stop the spread, how will this be different. We have to learn & adjust to living with this virus. You cannot stop the world from moving, so no another lockdown is not an option, please look at a report Sweden have just released it explains why they didn’t do what we’re doing, and they are now living normally.

it's time to move forward. the NHS is not overwhelmed. Deaths from flu are higher and have been for a while. Not saying it's not a risk but it's a risk that people need to be allowed to judge for themselves, their family and their circumstances.

Lockdowns will not eradicate this virus - we need to learn to live with it.

The draconian measures taken earlier in the year have got us to where we are now. Repeating this misguided approach will not result in a different outcome. Are the SG insane?

In the history of the world there has never been a national lockdown to tackle a public health issue. Not in any country, not at any time. Covid-19 comes nowhere close (by at least a factor of 10) to being comparable to some of the worlds worst pandemics. So what has changed to make our politicians so slapdash with our human rights?
