Numbers based on venue capacity
I feel weddings should not be limited to 20 guests. I am a bride who was due to get married in May then Nov and have now had to postpone for the third time as it was impossible to select 20 of our nearest and dearest. My venue has a capacity for 200 and my guest numbers are 80 which I feel could easily be socially distanced throughout the day. Make the rules on numbers of wedding guests based on the venues capacity and not a straight down the line 20, that way more couples can have their special days and suppliers can get back to work and have their livelihoods back. The wedding industry I feel is being completely overlooked and it is very unfair for couples and suppliers to be put in this position just now when other industries aren’t facing the same restrictions. Weddings are such special events that should be celebrated with your loved ones and with these restrictions it’s just impossible to have hope or feel excited after so much effort, planning and money has went into it.
Why the contribution is important
For the mental health of couples and suppliers in the industry. Also to save supplier businesses which contribute a lot to the economy and fairness for all industries. It’s not fair to be in a restaurant or pub at social distanced capacity and wedding venues aren’t getting the same treatment when that’s such an important event for people, more so than going to the pub or out for a meal.
