Plan B

Your current strategy is

Tightening restrictions

Followed by

Loosening restrictions

Tightening restrictions can lead to a reduction in virus transmission.

Loosening restrictions will lead to an increase in virus transmission.

So your strategy doesn't achieve anything as everyone knows in a few weeks we'll be back to the same position.

Majority of the population are not impacted by this virus yet are being asked to live with another 6 months of major restrictions.

Now unless there is a vaccine in Q1 that 6 months turns into 12months etc.

So by continuing to repeat a strategy that will fail you're going to have more and more people just break the rules so it will backfire. At the same time jobs will be lost and businesses go under.

You need to have a strategy which accepts the virus doesn't impact the majority of the population.

First minister had correctly highlighted hospital admissions increase as a concern. However has done nothing to reintroduce shielding but is happy to impose draconian measures on rest of the population. This just doesn't make sense.

We're not in the same position as we were in March when a lock down was required. We're in a much stronger position.

Why the contribution is important

You're getting the balance wrong.

I could see sense in your strategy if there was a 100% guarantee of a vaccine within a month.

However there isn't and you need a strategy which will provide more freedoms especially to the young who are seeing their lives ruined for something which will not affect them.
