Small independent shops

To NOT close non essential shops again - we have already had to close for 3 months earlier on in the year which was devastating enough when it's your livelihood and you cannot work from home or suchlike. The SEISS payment, as grateful as we were for it, does not come anywhere close enough the earnings we would of made had we of been open. Birthdays, anniversaries etc all still exist during a global pandemic and now with Christmas approaching it's one of our busiest times, more than ever we need to encourage people to shop locally and help keep us in business

Why the contribution is important

It's important because the economy couldn't cope again and it's people's livelihoods on the line here - it's fine for those who have the luxury of being to work from home and get their wages regardless but when your self employed and its your only income and you've slogged your guts out over the last 30 years to build up your small independent business to have to shut for another period of time in the same year would be a huge blow for shopping locally and independently.
