Treat people like adults and trust them to make their own risk based decisions.

We can’t keep bouncing from restriction to restriction indefinitely. A vaccine may never be found or could be years away. The restrictions are doing more harm than good. What makes saving someone from dying of Covid more important than deaths from all the harms the restrictions are doing? Cancer, mental health, dementia etc.

Quality of life is just as important as quantity, my shielding in law would rather see their grandchildren and enjoy life than be locked away. People’s quality of life is suffering due to lack of treatments such as hip replacement etc.

Children are suffering greatly. They need their education, they need their friends, they need to be able to go to after school activities. They aren’t affected by Covid, they don’t spread Covid. Keep schools open let them socialise freely!!

Please just treat us all like adults, no restrictions, just let us make our own risk based decisions.

Why the contribution is important

Covid deaths are not more important than all the other harms and deaths the restrictions are causing! The restrictions are only prolonging the agony and causing more harm than good.

    Couldn’t agree more.

Just because it's been a hundred years since the last pandemic this serious, it doesn't mean it's a one in a hundred year event. We're being asked to throw potentially years of our lives away just because people aren't used to this happening. However the likelihood is that young people currently alive will see at least one further serious pandemic in their lifetimes. We can't shut the whole country down every time something like this happens, this pandemic is far from unprecedented, but the lockdown rules we're being forced to live by certainly are.

Fully agree as my mothers dementia has deteriorated massively due to lack of stimulation during lockdown and barely recognises myself or my children anymore - i am unwilling to not visit my mother anymore so she can spend some time with her grandchildren.

    Absolutely!

    "they don’t spread Covid"

    This is untrue.

Additionally, restrictions such as social distancing and mask wearing are for the benefit of everyone else, not yourself.

While I agree that some restrictions should be lifted or reworked, treating the public as anything other than the idiots we collectively are is a terrible idea.

Hello children have died from covid and it does effected children and schools colleage and university have had spikes. Other health issues shouldn't suffer I agree there but covid patients shouldn't to . Nhs needs more doctors and Nurses. And not to be rude but by doing what you suggest would but more people at risk of covid and over load nhs and frontline services in the fact that while most people do follow the rules and others do not and Teenagers Ive seen in larger groups of six and where no face masks . Oblivious some cant where faces masks but Im sorry to say this is the new normal till the vaccines is found and Im sure things will change going forward. But you can't underestimate the coronavirus impact on the world and the caution need going forward to get us back to the ways things where before.

I agree with this 100% stop the nanny state control, control and power has gone to their heads now.
We need to open everything up and start living our lives again before the economy completely crashes, this shutting and re-opening isn’t working you should trust people more to do the right thing.
The virus is weaker yes lots more cases but the deaths are next to nothing, we need to live with this virus like all others flu, colds etc and start giving peoole who require it their cancer treatment etc I know people diagnosed feb/march time and still waiting to start chemo that is around 8 months now they have been waiting where is the help for them

    I agree so much .
Enough is enough. We endured so much but we cannot take any more.

Completely agree, when did we start living in a dictatorship. Misinformation and ill informed decisions made on inaccurate data is a disgrace.

I agree and FM needs to stop saying things like ‘adult conversation’ and treating the public as adults, it is beyond insulting.

We need to learn to live with the virus as a vaccine, even if available, will not be a 'magic bullet' for a number of reasons. Judging by how we are organising testing and the health service more generally, we would not be able to deliver a vaccine in a timely, organised manner.

It's likely that the virus will remain with us so accommodating it more reasonably is now very urgent - we cannot live under such extreme measures over a prolonged period.

Unfortunately adults do not behave like adults. Going into a supermarket is like dodging a game of tig, there`s zero social distancing and no one says "excuse me" any more. They just invade your space, and think if they sneak up on you the virus won`t infect anyone. People should only be treated like adults when they act like adults.

That'll be the same "adults" who rammed the pubs in Manchester and Newcastle at the weekend, and danced arm-in-arm through the takeaways and streets after 10pm closing.

Does anyone have any common sense?

On one hand I'd love to go out and live my life.......HOWEVER I think I would rather follow the guidelines and not DIE from a deadly virus!

We have adapted our lives to getting what we want when we want it.

It's time we accept that this will be the current phase of daily living for the foreseeable future and we must adapt again to SURVIVE.

So be WISE and use your COMMON SENSE.
