Ventilator capacity

The original rationale for restricting movements and ultimately justifying lockdown was that if we let the virus run free then we would overwhelm the NHS ventilator capacity and people would die unnecessarily.
It was reported we hit a maximum of 45% of ventilator capacity at the peak.
We now have high infection rates and low death rates, I think now we should move to a herd immunity strategy whilst protecting the vulnerable.

If we continue with suppressing outbreaks then this virus will last a lot longer, ruining the economy and resulting in unnecessary deaths for those awaiting regular health care.
