Wedding
As a bride to be who is now on their 3rd date, I understand the "normal" wedding which we all knew may be a long way off. However, we need to allow couples to marry and have some sense of celebration. It makes no sense that people can be packed into a pub or restuarant sitting 1metre away from a stranger but people can't safely have their family and friends there to watch them get married and have some sort of celebration. I welcomed the fact that we can have 20 people, however I think we can do better, whilst still maintaining safety precautions. Allow weddings and receptions to go ahead in covid secure venues where the percentage of guests depends on the size of the venue. Also consider testing for the bride and groom and their bridal party. I live with my partner so it makes absolutely no sense that I have to wear a mask whilst I stand next to him, that we cannot cut out cake or have put first dance. Weddings are a huge part of people's live and by depriving the very basics of the celebration, when we know there are measures we can put in place to keep people safe, then people are putting their lives on hold. The virus is not going anywhere. I have a partner who was shielding so I am fully aware of the risks but we want more than a simple ceremony and a meal. We want to have our first dance and listen to our song. These things are what we have all saved and waited out whole lives for. More consideration needs to be given to weddings and the reception. It's a fundamental right of all couples.
