20-30 year olds

Ease lockdown restrictions on 20-30 year olds first. Allow them to have social interaction before other age groups

Why the contribution is important

20-30 year olds are the most likely age group to rely on friends and social situations to aid personal development and prevent problems with mental health. Many in this age group live alone, and many are struggling more than other age groups at the prospect of no social interaction. In addition, they are the least likely age group to transmit the disease to others, and are the healthiest age group to be able to fight the virus.
With social distancing still in place if necessary, this age group should be allowed to interact with friends before others.

I agree with the sentiment, that this age group might be the most at risk regarding loneliness and general mental health problems.
Unfortunately, the fact that most in this group might escape serious illness, doesn't mean they would not spread the virus.

"In addition, they are the least likely age group to transmit the disease to others"

No, that is not clinically proven, and so it is an unsafe basis for decision making.

It would be very dangerous to have a highly socially interactive part of the population, many of whom live at home still, roaming free under the false belief that they are not able to transmit the virus, and so are free of all the restrictions currently in place. Nothing would undo the gains made more quickly than that.

I partly agree however, feel that the age group should start younger at 16 years. These formative years are when people rely on there friends more than their parents for emotional support on some matters.

Absolutely agree. Think they are the age group most affected in terms of mental health and lack of socialising

I agree , many in this age group are living on their own, unable to see friends or family.

I don't know where you get the idea that this group is the least likely to transmit the disease to others.

I do not agree that 20-30 year olds are least at risk to spread Coved19. What is the proven science behind this statement. I understand this age group are desperate to get out and about and meet their friends again but I don't think that's a reason to allow restrictions to be lifted any earlier. I know that many people in all groups are suffering with mental health issues at this time but we must all keep safe. We owe it to each other.

No science behind this idea. No age group should be given beneficial treatment
