“Joining one household to another in a social bubble”
I honestly don’t see how allowing one household to choose one other to be in contact with will work. Unless this is full contact indoors and without social distancing?
We are a family of 4 - 2 parents and 2 teenagers. I can guarantee that for each of us there is one person or group that we want to see, and these would be in 4 separate households.
The question is simple. Why can’t eg. My son meet his best mate at the park for a chat 2m apart? Why can’t I have my friend round to my garden for a coffee 2m apart? We are permitted to shop/ exercise 2m apart. Surely the risk of 2 friends chatting outdoors 2m apart is far less than being in a supermarket with 10s of other strangers ?
Why the contribution is important
There is still far too much confusion and the government are focusing on schools opening, hospitality industry resuming, football returning.
The fundamental requirement and basic essential wish for 99% of people is to have some much better contact with loved ones. Yet no one is addressing this!,
We need to walk before we can run !!!!
