Adhere to the Legislation

The Health Protection (Coronavirus) (Restrictions) (Scotland) Regulations 2020 states that exercise is permitted with no restriction on duration, location, type or frequency so it is already permissible to exercise more than once a day.

The Health Protection (Coronavirus) (Restrictions) (Scotland) Regulations 2020 lists a number of activities that are explicitly prohibited - Golf is not one or these so it is already permissible to play golf.

The Health Protection (Coronavirus) (Restrictions) (Scotland) Regulations 2020 states that meetings outside your family group is prohibited in public - this does not apply in private so it is already permissible to have a small 'bubble' of friends and family to meet in private.

It should be made clear to the law abiding public in Scotland that this is the case, no further permission is needed from the Scottish Govt, nor is any relaxation of the 'rules' required.

Why the contribution is important

Because the 'advice', 'rules' and 'guidance' stated in press releases, the media, and in government statements is contravening the emergency legislation and hence the First Minister does not have the authority to restrict life in Scotland to a greater extent than that defined in the emergency legislation.

Coronavirus doesn’t stick to the rule of law. Let’s just stick to the plain English guidancw we are getting at the moment. It is working fairly well

This is correct. There are guidelines and there is the legal situation. There is nothing banning multiple periods of exercise but the powers that be ask for your compliance while trying to give the impression that the guidelines have legal weight which they don’t . That’s how they designed lockdown and called it that. It’s containment and the word helps convey that. We have the right to family life under human rights law and any deprivation of it should be ceased forthwith. The lack of progress in restoring our right to this is creating distress and suffering and eventually people will act unilaterally if it’s not addressed very soon.

It states no person may leave the places where they are living except for reasons listed which DO NOT include visiting friends or family in their own private homes.
