Air travel

14 arrivals quarantine would be devastating for the airline industry. It also seems to be about 7 weeks too late in being implemented. Will business loans be available to airlines or furlough extended for airline staff until they can safely fly again? If not there will be no airlines left and the effect on the economy from loss of air travel and all its associated benefits to the country and the huge network of associated job would be devastating. A highly skilled workforce of pilots, engineers and so many more will be on the scrap heap. These highly skilled workers pay huge amounts of tax, along with enormous training costs. These jobs and this industry are so precious. Please don’t let any more airlines fail. Support them with LOANS, not bailouts or handouts. Or support the staff with extended furlough.

Why the contribution is important

Please don’t let any more airlines fail. Hundreds of thousands of jobs and livelihoods depend on them.

Should have been done as soon as the virus got to Europe - restrict it to areas where the virus is still rampaging if at all.

With respect, flying contributes to the climate emergency. I would not bail out any airlines, but would find ways to transition to green/sustainable industry instead. The climate emergency wont go away unless we take action.
