Airports - testing

Introduce testing at airports and make it mandatory before security gate, and at arrivals. Particularly when people are again allowed to travel abroad on holidays. Tests to be taken from at least one person if travelling in a household. If there are groups of young people from various households, everyone should be tested.

Why the contribution is important

Prevents spread to other countries and people potentially bringing in the virus.

Testing at airports should include flights from the rest of the UK entering Scotland
The Netherlands prevented travel between North fewer cases and the South with success in the spread of the virus What about road checkpoints at the Scottish Borders

There is no point in having people in lockdown when people can enter, possibly with the virus, and not be tested or quarantined.

Should have been put in place before now

We live on an island. We are in a better position than most countries in the world to protect our borders. Therefore we must change how we let people travel in and out our country and make sure we are always in a position to lockdown our borders when the need arises. So once TTI comes in we should be very stringent to do our best to ensure this virus does not travel.

I'm furious with the uk Home Office regards this. Before custome approval EVERYONE should be quarantined and tested within that period of quarantine. Unused hotels could help with this. This should be mandatory at airports, ports & even train stations. People can get off a flight in London and travel to anywhere by train.

I think we should take it a step further and close the borders to people, other than those on cargo flights or those working offshore. I can't see any good reason for anyone else to have to travel to/from the UK. the pictures we saw yesterday of the packed plane flying from Belfast to London was shocking. I very much doubt there was a real need for most of those people to be flying.

Only those with a British passport or permanent residency should be allowed to enter the UK at this time. This should have been implemented weeks ago and on arrival quarantined for 14 days.
