Allow a voluntary return to school

A return to school should not be made compulsory.
Parents who have the possibility to work from home, can support their kids' learning, and whose children have adapted very well to homeschooling should not be forced to send their children back to school.

Why the contribution is important

Even if it is commonly accepted that children have less risks of developing covid, if infected, they can still be asymptomatic carriers and bring the virus into the household. It is really not worth the risk.

Totally agree. Returning to school - even if the government are claiming it is safe - should be a parents choice.
Children are not belongings that can be replaced! And neither are the families / staff who could be infected.
It’s so easy for a parent to supervise 1 or 2 children in hand washing etc but school staff can not be constantly watching over up to 33 children.

Agree, apart from anything else no one is thinking about the teachers. They are key workers and have no choice about whether they can stay home and stay safe. Primary teachers in particular spend the day with numerous little health hazards and risk taking infection home to their own family at the end of every day.

Perhaps a phased return, with kids sitting highers in 2021 first, then Nat 5's and so on. These kids need structured support. come August coulduld have half the year in one day and the other half the next. If start with small numbers of those studying for qualifications first and then phase numbers and years back over weeks
