Allow access to self catering holiday accommodation

I would like to see access to self catering holiday accommodation within Scotland allowed for residents of Scotland.

Why the contribution is important

Stay at home (rented accommodation) with some exercise to maintain health of locals and visitors.
Helps areas which depend on tourism to make initial start in moving to new normal

This has been REPEATEDLY ADDRESSED BEFORE, please check the previous answers. The consensus is that this is a huge threat to rural communities with limited resources and restricted healthcare. The resources should be available to local people and if the community has no cases of C19 then they have every right to refuse entry to outsiders. You can't be 100% sure you are free of the virus at any stage and if you touch a door handle, gate or fuel pump you could pass it on to a doctor, nurse or other key worker. Every remote community has a lot of vulnerable residents in it. If you take C19 into the local food store you could kill half our parents and grandparents. Travel always has a risk. You can't be 100% sure you won't break down or have an accident risking the welfare of police, paramedics and recovery drivers and every member of their household. Raigmore only has 28 ventilated ICU beds and they should be available for Highland residents in the area the hospital serves. Unnecessary travel transmits the virus to so far uncontaminated areas and doing it for a holiday is selfish and unnecessary by any standards. Stay at home like a responsible human adult.

    Well explained JLMBD!

Why has this to be repeated over and over again? Don't put others at risk, stay home!

We own an Airbnb in the Highlands so understand the pressures faced by the industry but as JLMBD has explained this is currently a terrible idea. We can not wait to welcome guests back but it has to be when infection rates are down and we have access to track, trace and community testing.
