Allow camping / caravaning with members of same household

Allow campsites to reopen as long as marked out pitches
Limit to a certain distance from home address.
Campsites should be able to maintain social distancing and tents / caravans are essentially mobile homes.

Why the contribution is important

People are going to want a holiday. Planes are out for a while. Camping does need private transport or hiking. Camping does not need pubs restaurants etc. to open. However open air venues could consider opening with social distancing.
Gets money spent locally within our nation.
Outdoor activities are safer than indoor.

I would love to get away in my caravan and could physically distance most of the time, but it would mean careful management in toilets and showers and children may find it hard to be on holiday and keep a distance, playing at swings etc . Also the local shops would have increased visitors, many of these food shops in small towns and villages are quite cramped and social distancing measures could cause long queues and frustrations. Take away food shops would be in the same position.

Maybe some way down the line but campsite and caravan sites are congested at the of times and social distancing would be hard to ensure.

I agree, a place where distancing is easy to achieve and with a few added regulations (family members, small groups, no on-site shops and so on) this would allow people to get out more with very little if any affect on the spread of the virus.

Sites for Motorhomes and Touring Caravans should be allowed to re-open. For example, only using every second pitch while shared facilities remain closed would allow for social distancing.

Being a caravane I can see the possibilities within the sites to maintain social distancing, but the problems arise when you leave the site and mix with the local community. As one of the previous comnentors rightly said, they are usually small communities which may make social distancing difficult if you have an influx of visitors

Camping in single household groups is sensible. No groups. Some basic queue management at toilet facilities. Showers are placed to wash so use of soap and water there is what we've been doing with our hands anyway. Don't open shops on site or play areas.

People could be encouraged to bring most food with them, save putting pressure on locals, although camping does support local rural economies. Put a max distance on travel.

Maybe phase it by not allowing ferry travel just yet ie the islands.

Tents etc should be 6m apart anyway for fire regulations so distancing not an issue.

    Outdoor activities better than indoor.
