Allow garden centres to open before they go bust!

Garden centres and the nurseries etc supplying them will go bust if they don’t get to open NOW.
It should go without saying it’s a seasonal business. They are lower risk than supermarkets (and the likes of B&M that get to open because they sell a few tins of beans)
Controlled numbers, mainly outside spaces, very low risk. Let them open before you bankrupt them.

Why the contribution is important

Employment is going to be thin on the ground when this is over. Businesses that could function safely must be allowed to do so and not be left to go bust.

Garden centres could easily re-open, generally people are much further apart in garden centres than they are in supermarkets. I would hate to see them, and also the growers, go out of business, they are an essential part of a lot of people's lives.

Absolutely agree with garden centres re-opening. If Homebase can open safely, why on earth can't garden centres?

Yes, gardening is highly beneficial too, in terms of fresh air, exercise and mentally stimulating.

Totally agree. Especially if England and Wales allow garden centres to reopen this coming week, please ensure Scotland does the same.
