Allow outdoor pursuits like Hill Walking, Fishing & Golf to resume

Outdoor pursuits like Hill walking, Fishing, Mountain biking & golf are all solo pursuits and could easily be allowed under social distancing requirements.

Why the contribution is important

Many people are working from home just now and from person experience are working longer hours and taking less breaks. Allowing outdoor pursuits like these would give people a chance to switch off from the workplace.

    I whole heartedly support this suggestion as long as participants take necessary precautions when opening and closing gates.

    I also suggest adding other sports where social distancing is easily possible such as sea kayaking and flying gliders.

    golf was in operation at our local club, subject to the social restriction conditions. It worked well before lockdown and I can see no reason for staying shut. There are huge benefits associated with exercise in fresh air, both physical and mental. If we are to be treated like adults there has to be some degree of trust. My wife and I both play. We have been walking every day, even round the course. Would make no difference to our risk but make a huge difference to our mental state. ( we are both retired but very active)
    Same logic applies to tennis, assuming singles.

    I don't see a problem with going fishing/hiking. I can go all-day and not bump into anyone so social distancing isn't a problem

    I agree with the suggestion that suitable outdoor pursuits should be allowed. Many of these have natural social distancing. Golf, gliding, fishing and hill walking are clearly suitable , with some thought and care.

    Add sailing and other water sports that can be done solo or in very small groups to this list as well please.
