  I agree it would help small businesses or self-employed tradespeople to get back to work. It would be up to the householder to ensure that social distancing was maintained throughout.

  Given essential work can be carried out in the home with social distancing observed, there is no reason why work deemed non-essential cannot be undertaken. Even where workmen are in teams, this can safely be done at a 2m distance and without customer interaction.

  Again, a no-brainer. So long as the correct distancing and hygiene measures are followed by both householder and tradesperson, this is another small but significant step that could be taken to move this situation forward.

  My kitchen floor is about to give way, I will go through it in the not so distant future and will probably really injure myself in the process, the materials needed to replace the floor were ordered and paid for just before the lock down so have been unobtainable. It would be very easy for this job to be done with social distancing still being strictly observed.

  Have a nearly finished extension with an unbuilt kitchen awaiting joiner could the be followed by plumber and electrician so we could have proper cooking facilities
