Allow social bubbles

Allow social bubbles of a certain number of households to spend time together in each other's houses/gardens. This would be very easy for contact tracing if anyone became symptomatic.

Why the contribution is important

For the mental health of everyone and improve compliance with the rest of the lockdown rules.

I feel if these social bubbles were allowed people wouldn't want to mix much wider and would be able to continue to observe the other lockdown rules and guidelines. If even contact with close family members in other households is not allowed, after a while people are likely to do this anyway, and then could be unlikely to confess to this for contact tracing purposes if they did develop symptoms which would not be good in terms of advice re: testing/self isolation.

God idea. Isolation has been very difficult for some people and this would help immensely. But does it have to be restricted to each other's homes?

Fantastic idea. Nicola, just do it and do it now before you ruin the mental health of a large proportion of the Scottish population.

I think within small groups of well, close family members then this would be a good idea. I would allow some children to socialise with cousins etc without the greater risk of larger groups. It could be easily monitored too.

The government say they want to treat people like adults then these sort of simple suggestions do just that an easy win for everyone and as stated should help contract tracing should that be required.

How do you enforce this? Nobody in this country carries ID. Do you have to submit names to the local authority and have your "bubble" put on a database?
If you have 10 people in your bubble and they in turn have 9 different ones in theirs and so on ....the risk of your bubble spreading infection is R9....at the moment we are below R1.
    Bubbles are unworkable and dangerous.

This is definitely one of the first things that should happen as so many people have been isolated for such a long time and this is affecting their mental and physical health. Families can make their own judgements as to how safe it it to meet each other and mitigate the risks. Government need to put some trust back into the majority of the public to do the right thing. We will never be able to stop the idiots who will do as they please but these are the ones that the police can then deal with.

Most sensible. Will make lockdown so much more bearable for grandparents and will be vital if workers are to be allowed back to work

I'm a self employed yoga teacher. Expanding the bubble over summer would allow me to teach my private one to one clients (2 of them) in my garden (which is quite big so can distance at 2m) and allow me to regain a proportion of my income before I run into repayment issues with creditors once my repayment holidays end in July.
