There has been discussion about schools not opening until August. However, has there been any consideration to summer childcare provision?
Why the contribution is important
Many parents rely on these services in order to work, and many if us have used a number of holidays during the lockdown for childcare and will therefore need summer provision even more.
Out of school services are likely to be highly impacted by the current and summer closures, yet they are vital for parents to get back into the workplace. Has any concideration been made in how to support these very lean organisations?
Those employed in them have very low salaries and it is hard to recruit qualified practitioners due to the increase in early years provision.
