Absolutely think this is a viable option as by its nature is a mainly solo pastime and social guidelines can easily be met. I have two anglers in my household and this would be a huge stress relief if this were to happen.

No need for PPE when facing a river, with a ghillie standing behind. Angling is a safe, solitary and hugely important pastime for millions of people.

all shore and land based angling can v easily achieve social distancing ( in fact i go fishing to get away from people and may others do too !) , it provides valuable exercise especially roving types of fishing fly and lure fishing and provides very important mental health benefits. It should be allowed.
