As an Angler I am fully aware of the dangers of my sport, however being in close proximity to other people is not one of them. The idea that it is ok to walk and cycle in crowded parks and go shopping in B&Q and the likes does not sit easy with me. I fully support the lockdown as I have underlying health issues but I would wish to see Angling permitted as soon as possible. This would aid in exercise capabilities for those who cannot cycle or walk long distances but help to ease the mental health issues of the people who participate. It is easy to put in any extra measures to restrict the possibility of any issues with social distance. It would be a travesty of justice if we anglers had to watch the vulnerable visiting garden centres and the like whilst being denied the ability to take part in our activity that is safe and beneficial.

Why the contribution is important

To give the ability to those who participate in the sport of angling to have healthy safe exercise for both physical and mental well being. There are many studies that have been done to show the benefits of angling both to the human population the environment and the economy.
