Ban hotdesking

When people return to the office they should be designated a desk and no hot desking allowed.

Why the contribution is important

Hot desking (or smarter working as SG like to call it) is dangerous and should be banned

    Absolutely! So very risky! We had complaints about hot desking even before the virus. So a huge no no now

    Totally agree hot desking has to be stopped permanently. This virus will be around for a while and sharing desks is an easy way to spread it. It's been a big issue where I work, staff are always ill with colds and flu,but the big bosses won't listen. It has to be banned

    Hot desking was proven years ago to be detrimental to both physical and mental house as it leave employees in a limbo with nowhere to call 'home' at work.

    With this virus in play, its more dangerous than ever.

    Agreed. Hotdesking allows employers to effectively overfill in certain industries, making social distancing harder. Also encourages better individual sanitation as individuals can't just "move to another desk"

    This does not work well with increased home working, and physical distancing in the office. In my office we are going to have to take a lot of desks out of use to allow physical distancing, and many people will work from home quite a lot of the time. That inevitably means when it is their "turn" to use the office they will have to hot-desk as we will have taken a lot of desks out of use. We will need excellent overnight cleaning to address the risk

    Hot desking has always been disliked by employees but loved by management (that same management who would not only NEVER got desk - they won’t even share their office!) Hot feeling leads to more colds/flu so in COVID-19 world this then becomes even more scary!!!!! I’ll hit desk when the CEO’s of big companies do the same!!!!!
