Be prepared for Scotland to go a separate way

I can see the problems arising from the four parts of the UK going their seperate ways. But after all the blunders we have seen from the UK government, re dealing with the crisis - for example, first promoting herd immunity, then, too late, declaring a lockdown, not providing PPE and not providing tests, both of which is as vital as the lockdown - Scotland should be prepared to go her own way where legally possible.

Why the contribution is important

I think it is obvious that the UK government has made grave mistakes. Yet Scotland so far has still religiously followed the overall UK strategy. In my eyes it must be made very clear that, to protect the people in Scotland, the Scottish government is prepared to act and react differently where legally possible.

I regret that Scotland has also make mistakes. Late to lockdown, esp pubs and huge sporting events.

Also poor and behind even England on TTIS.

I believe it has been made very clear by Ms Sturgeon that Scotland will act as it sees fit. The Scottish demographic is different, and that is relevant to the response.

Listen to the science but also look at how other countries are dealing with CV19. We've always looked to Scandanavian countries for economic comparisons, we should look at their approaches and see what can be learned.

The Scottish government has been guided from the start by the Westminster government and this has been a disaster right from the start.
It’s time the Scottish government split ranks and did what is best for the people of Scotland.

While Scotland is guided by UK policy we rightly retain the right to deviate when necessary to safeguard our people.

It's too easy to keep the message "stay at home" without considering the full consequences. Our testing regime is much poorer than south of the border so we have no idea what the "r" number is. We actually need a much better and clearer strategy in Scotland to ease ourselves carefully out of the current crisis.
