Birth partners allowed on labour wards if are well
I'm expecting our first child in July. I'm grateful that my husband should be allowed in the delivery room but I'm very anxious about being in labouring, potentially for a long time, on my own in hospital without him before the baby is born, and then about him having to leave very quickly after the baby is born.
Obviously nobody should be allowed in a hospital who isn't well. Can tests be turned around quickly enough to confirm that birth partners don't have the virus and allow them a bit more time in labour wards?

Why the contribution is important
Mental health impacts, vital support that birth partners give to mothers (especially new mothers), bonding between fathers and babies
