Body Piercing Shops

As we now look to be getting to a point how we get out of lockdown, we as a business are looking to see how we could open and trade safely. Our salon is an ultra-clean place in normal times with continuous cleaning.
We believe to be in a position to open once lockdown has been lifted, we would advise that our staff would be required to wear full PPE, visors, face masks, (aprons and gloves, that we already use which are disposed on our clinical waste bins) we don’t believe anything less would be acceptable for both our staff and customers safety. Within the piercing salon, it would be one to one with limited contact (our contact time with a client would usually be less than 5 minutes). We also need to limit customers in the shop to enforce social distancing, with the use of hand sanitiser on entry and exit of the shop.

We are bringing this up just now, as we don’t want the First Minister to issue a blanket decision that Tattooist & Body Piercing are the same, tattooists have prolonged contact with their clients and yes there are many body piercers working within tattoo shops, but there are others like us that are stand-alone body piercing shops.

We would be happy to discuss and explain how our industry works to help give you an insight and assist with your decision making process on how early we can reopen.
We believe that any regulations should be mandatory and not advisory

Why the contribution is important

It is important that we find a safe route to enable our shop to open as we are a business with staff and overheads which needs to be trading ASAP.
