Clarity on weddings

The government should provide clarity on weddings and if these are likely to take place over summer, and if so, what conditions they will be in, so that people can prepare or postpone now rather than at the last minute.

Why the contribution is important

Scotland has thousands of wedding venues and summer is a very busy time for them. It is not only a special day for a couple, but a huge boost to the economy, and many hotels rely on wedding income.

    This would also help with when to reschedule for so that people are not having to keeping changing dates.

    I feel so sorry for anyone who is trying to get answers we are due to marry in June at a registry office in Inverness even if they allow the wedding to go ahead by end of may it takes 29 days for paperwork to be processed by local office so the real truth is all wedding off until july earliest the government have stop all registry office taking in paperwork for processing and have not as of today after speaking to registry office who are still not allowed to take anyone paperwork for processing. Therefore even if they lock us down for another three weeks then say wedding in small groups ok the facts are no paperwork check for certificate then no wedding disgraceful of any government they could allow the office of registry to check paperwork so people can marry ASAP after rule are lIfted.

    Many brides and groom have lost honeymoons events and even loved ones who will never attend so stop with these restrictions on paperwork and small wedding

    Couldn’t agree more, we need clarity as to where the reinstatement of the Registry office will be in the list of phased opening.
    Instead of going 3 weeks to 3 weeks!
    Meaning people could be left with days to get everything organised or days to let people know it’s not happening.

    Not fair on anyone mental state during an already stressful time.
