Close our borders

As witnessed by the success of New Zealand in containing the spread of the Coronavirus, our borders should be closed and quarantine conditions imposed on all persons arriving in the country.
Most other countries did this very early in their attempt to contain the spread of COVID-19.

Why the contribution is important

Whilst acknowledging that most of the spread of the virus is now within our own community, we should ensure that in helping to contain further spread we do not allow further cases to arrive in our country totally unchecked.

Agree, Covid-19 came into the UK through one of our border entry points. Friends came back from Tenerife and Italy at the start of the outbreak and walked through immigration at airports unchecked, no hand sanitizer some were handed a leaflet about symptoms. We are an island nation (apart from NI) it should have been possible to keep Covid-19 out.

Fully support - understand this is Westminster responsibility but have never heard a satisfactory explanation to why this has not happened . Obviously food and essential supplies transport needs to continue .

Its simply too late for this - we are no.2 in the world now - a dubious honour.
More likely other nations close their borders to us!

I suspect Westminster may want to loosen restrictions sooner than Holyrood so we may have to close Scotland's borders
