Coming out of lockdown

Scientists have been saying for a long time that until there is a vaccine (which there may never be one) we will need to learn as a society to live with covid 19. Do we as a society need to open up again and then have clear lockdown plans in place when there is another wave. There has been regular discussion about the impact on the economy if there is a second wave. If we prepare like we know there is going to be a second wave coming and have as any things in place for that second wave that will offset the impact to the economy. It feels unrealistic at the moment to think there won't be a second wave. Politicians say follow the science and the science tells us there will be a second wave so prepare for it.... prepare like we've never prepared for anything before. While preparing though allow people to take precautions and live their lives as "normal" as possible.

Why the contribution is important

I believe from the reading I have done that we are going to have this for a long time, societies mental health cannot survive a lockdown lasting a year.

Covid 19 or its successor will be with us indefinitely. Elinination of the polio virus globally took 50years, menigitis is still active and covid is now embedded in the global population. We have to learn to live with the virus- proper contact tracing, better treatments.
