Compulsory testing and quarantine for people visiting Scotland

Anyone who visits Scotland from rUK and abroad should be tested for the virus and quarantined for 14 days.

Why the contribution is important

This will help prevent the spread of the virus but particularly prevent a second peak occuring.

From abroad perhaps but not RUK.
14 days quarantine will deter anyone actually visiting...
How ever international arrivals into the UK should be checked and perhaps quarantined..7 days.

This is a policy which may have resulted in less UK deaths if applied earlier- 18 million people arrived into UK during just before and lockdown - none were tested, traced or quarantined

What is the point of testing if they have to quarantine for 14 days anyway. We should test and if positive quarantine, but if clear, force the same rules as everyone else at the time.

    Strongly agree

We did 3,036 tests on 5th of May. I don't see how we could fit in the testing of those coming into Scotland with such limited testing available. I dont think anyone disagrees that we need more testing though, but we dont have it and therefor need to use it where it will deliver the best result

People arriving in Scotland from outwith the UK should be expected to self-isolate for a minimum 7 days .

Why not close Airports to all but freight and returning residents?
Even then, testing and strict quarantine should be imposed

People have to be tested before they board a flight and not when they land !!!
    Nothing else makes sense

Good idea but where are all the people who are not returning to their own homes going to be quarantined? How is it all going to be enforced and checked?

Flights other than for logistics, NHS, food and other essentials should be stopped.
This should have been done at the outset as seen in countries like Australia and New Zealand. Those who are coming in must be made to quarantine and must be tested.
