Concern over proposed street parties for VE day

Concerned to see on social media the idea of people having "social distancing" street parties to celebrate VE day on Friday 8 May. Our local community council actively encouraging people to have family picnics in their streets. This is a real concern and I feel totally goes against guidance.

Why the contribution is important

This could be a real flashpoint and may undo the hard work done so far.

Street parties are a no-no, but having lived through the 25th anniversary of VE Day and the 50th anniversary, I have never known VE Day parties.

Street parties of any type for any reason during this present situation is a complete non starter. This situation should be commented on by government spokesperson . If any go ahead I would hope Police Scotland's finest would take the appropriate .action
