Conservation: Employees and Activities

There has never been a better time for conservation work to take place. Most charities have ceased operations; the NTS, John Muir Trust etc., etc., but as we know the social distancing rules are easy to maintain in the open, where the virus is less infectious anyway. As for accessing remote places, I expect that most workers have their own vehicles, and an interim increase in vehicle use is a worthwhile price to pay. Such organisations are also able to manage car parking logistics.

Discipline regarding hygiene and the cleaning of tools etc., is no different to that applied on allotments.

Why the contribution is important

It would benefit the environment
It would benefit the economy
It's a good opportunity to do it
It's an investment in the countryside for the future
It's inherently positive in outlook
It gets employees back off government-funded furlough
It's good for employees mental and physical health
I can't think of a reason not to do it
