Ask people to keep a daily diary of movements and contacts. This might be useful if they or someone they have been in contact with became ill with covid.

Not as a method to release lockdown but to help those who are key workers and having to be exposed to people anyway.

Should be digitised and automated as far as possible including named persons for those being shielded

Needs to be IT based and national ie UK and ideally global. Remember, a lot of early cases associated with travellers returning to UK from abroad.
