Daily exercise

That we can walk out in local areas of 5 to 10 miles more than once each day. Social distance rules would apply and my experience is that people adhere to those. Common sense is the norm and if a place is becoming too crowded people would leave. Short car journeys should be allowed from the end of May.

Why the contribution is important

I feel that if small concessions are not given that more people will ignore the rules.

    Most people exercise common sense.

This seems both logical and reasonable. Social distancing is essential, of course

No reason not to allow ahort drives immediately. 30 mile limit would be reasonable in 1st instance.

All these rules assume everyone lives in a big town. We live in a village. We can walk out of our house on to a country road and see hardly anyone else. It is absurd to say we can only go out once a day. Walking and fresh air are essential for good physical and mental health.
The disastrous effect these rules are having on the mental health of the nation must be taken into serious consideration.

Agree a set limit for short drives would be good.

A common sense post. Absolutely agree. Lack of outdoor exercise is having a massive impact on a lot of people. And if social distancing can be achieved then why not? I feel far safer outside in open spaces, with the odd nod or hello and social distancing, than I do in shops or on pavements

The longer there isn't a cohesive plan, the more people are likely to ignore the rules I reckon. Hence all the folks on here suggesting copy Ireland etc.

There are a number of ideas posted on this site in regard to this topic , most of the views accord with idea of both more exercise and allowing short drives to safe exercising areas. Is there no way all of the similar topics can’t be grouped together. It would give a better picture of the level of interest and concern. eg 20 topics with the same sort of purpose get 8 votes and 3 comments whereas if they were consolidated they would have 160 votes and 60 comments.
This would send a better message in the consultative process as to the public view on the topics importance.
