Different rules for different regions

Scotland is not uniformly affected by Covid-19. Some areas (especially some islands but also large regions of the mainland) have little or no infection. Let's relax lockdown (cautiously and in stages) starting with those areas with little or no current infection.

Why the contribution is important

Lockdown is having a massively negative impact on our society. Economic damage results in real negative effects on health and death rates and social isolation is extremely damaging to mental health. We need to lift lockdown in every possible way which will not result in a major increase in cases. This is one way of doing that.

This should certainly be the case. A one size fits all approach is nuts. There should be a scientific approach to this to allow opening up differently across the country. Scotland and the rest of the country

We live in Shetland. Hardly anyone is moving on or off the islands. Our population is dispersed. With adequate tracing and testing we could follow Farrow's success in dealing with Covid 19.

Quite agree. The politicians seem to think we all live in city centres

We live on an island but are not isolated from risk. There are currently 3 confirmed cases here. However it may be the case that on islands,so long as travel restrictions to us continue, it may be considered that an easing of lockdown restrictions could begin with for example visiting 1 other household

I agree. There is little risk of infection when there is a low number currently with the disease. One size does not fit all - it should be risk assessed.

Definitely- different areas have been affected differently therefore different measures should be taken depending on the intensity of the outbreak

Yes, for many people who are isolated it must be very hard. If we start lifting the lockdown in some places then we can support people who may be really struggling at the moment.

Agreed, this is a great suggestion. It would allow people to start slowly working towards normality in areas with low risk. This would be hugely beneficial for mental health and local businesses.

Definitely! The regions have vastly different cases and a region by region approach would be beneficial.

I agree, this would make it more specific to individual areas which would help in a gradual reduction of lockdown.
