Mobile dog groomers should be allowed to restart. Thick haired dogs suffer in the heat and benefit from professional grooming. Mobile dog groomers conduct their business within a mobile grooming unit and could easily comply with social distancing rules

    Would be good if groomers who only work on there own in premises are able to open as well as they can stagger appointments to ensure cleaning in between dogs & comply with social distancing guidelines

    Not essential. Grooming is bonding time and should usually be done by the human companion/guardian. Where that is not possible and grooming urgently needed for the welfare of the dog, it should and could be done by a vet.

    yes i agree that dog grooming restrictions should be lifted for those groomers who groom the dog at their own premises, my idea would be to tie the dogs lead round a secure fitting at the groomers premises, keep 6ft away from the dog, phone the groomer to come out and get the dog , on return phone the groomer while remaining 6ft apart from the secure tying point, and groomer would bring the dog out, and payment could be left in a tin or box... then take your dog home and give it a wash.. our little dogs need a haircut in this weather.

    I think it would be completely feasible for dog groomers working from their own premises to open as they could easily comply with the current social distancing measures

    Dog Grooming with social distancing is something that could easily be re established. Social distancing fully adhered to goes without saying.

    In my experience, Dog groomers could easily adhere to social distancing within their premises. All we would do is drop the dog off and come back later to collect them -exactly like we have done for YEARS! Dog grooming is a profession and a skill.
