Golf courses should not be open for use by golfers while significant social distancing measures are in place.
For many people living near them, golf courses have become a vital open space which allows them to walk and get exercise while being able to maintain social distancing far more effectively and safely than if they were confined to walking on pavements.

Why the contribution is important
Time outdoors and exercise at this time is hugely important for protecting physical and mental health.
Reintroduction of golf at this stage would significantly restrict the ability for the public to safely make use of this important green space while providing limited additional benefit to a relatively small number of people who would be playing golf.
